La mascletà, pyrotechnic espectacle.

Gunpowder has great prominence in the festival of Fallas, the mascletà is a deafening pyrotechnic show, a concert of gunpowder explosions with a unique sound that makes people vibrate who comes to hear it. There will be  a "mascletà"in the night that will take place on 18th March at 20.30 h in Plaça Jaume I.

In addition, during the festival week mascletaes are shot in different falles neighbourhoods on 17th at 13h, 18th at 14h and 19th at 14.30h.. At the end people usually enjoy the aperitif and taste typical dishes under the Mediterranean sun on the restaurants terraces of the city.

It is also common to hear the shooting of rockets and firecrackers on any street in Denia, as well as the traditional despertaes, a way to wake up the citizens in the early hours of the morning.
