The big balcony of Denia

START: Camí Mitjans, Jesús Pobre

LENGTH: 6.3 km.

Only one way. Linear route.

LEVEL DIFFERENCE: 751 m

DURATION: 3 h 45 m.

DIFFICULTY:  High

From the camí Mitjans we take the paved road that passes next to a water reservoir and, at 500 m, it turns into an old forest track, at its end, about 350 m altitude, we will observe a beautiful landscape with the population of Jesus Pobre in the first term.

From here, the road becomes a narrow mountain path to the village of Penya de l´Àliga, 4th century BC. It is considered the genesis of Dianium with its wall from the times of Sertorius and its La Marina Alta Treasure. Leaving the Penya de l´Àguila we find the crossing with the orange road signs (Camí de la Colònia- Top).

Following the path that runs throught the Montgó plateau, we will reach the sign where is the derivation that leads to the Creueta de Dénia.

If we follow along the main path, we reach  the top of Montgó, at 753 m altitude. In this point we can see the entire coastline and even, if the day is very clear, the islands of Ibiza and Mallorca.
